IT Release and QA Test Manager

Company Name: OSN Employment Type: Full Time Monthly Salary: Unspecified Job Role: Test Manager Minimum Work Experience: 10-15 Years Minimum Education Level: N/A Listed By: Employer Career Level: Manager Description: Description Job Purpose Owns the IT release management process and IT QA testing processes, including management and maintenance of the testing environments to ensure software releases are planned and only promoted through the development and test environments to production on meeting agreed defined levels of quality and QA test and system integration testing acceptance criteria (incl. UAT to production on business acceptance) Key Accountabilities Leads the Release Engineers and QA test engineers to ensure the effective management and maintenance of dev and test environments from an operating system, database and application code perspective. Maintains a scheduled calendar for the dev and testing environments to optimise use and ensure prioritised change has appropriate access and testing windows to meet agreed timescales. Creates and agrees IT test strategies that include requirements for all types of functional and technical testing (e.g. Performance, availability fail-over, security, etc) Creates test plans and identifies and schedules testing resource requirements Responsible for raising and resolving issues that impede testing and escalation as necessary Documents and agrees testing acceptance criteria with associated business and programme testing Ensures best practice, efficient and automated testing techniques are implemented Ensure that high quality Testing strategy and execution documentation is produced and maintained. Facilitate clear communication with Business stakeholders to ensure timelines, scope and deliverables are well-understood Participate in Demand Management (CRB) and Technical Design Authority as required. Work with Transformation Portfolio and Project Managers to ensure strategic projects are delivered to time and budget. Work closely with Business Readiness / Testing teams to ensure that Application changes and Software releases are fully understood and effectively communicated in advance Works closely with the development teams to ensure that planned releases are submitted to OSN CAB in a timely fashion, support the process of CAB submissions Support the Transformation of OSN's Technology function to a best practice organisation, including people and processes. Ensure that appropriate quality, maintainability and performance standards can be measured. Provide a foundation for the delivery of robust business applications. Requirements Qualifications, experience, skills and competencies Experience required: Substantial experience in Information Technology, typically possessing a minimum of 10 years' relevant experience, with a strong focus upon both functional and technical testing disciplines, software version control solutions and test environment management and maintenance. Can demonstrate experience with Application Development & Maintenance (ADM) Programme and Project management methodologies such as PMI and Prince2 Experienced in applying Agile / Scrum methodologies Education requirement: Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience. Familiar with SQL, Java, .Net, Oracle, LDAP, HTML5, DRM, VMware, NetApp. Knowledge & Skills: Experience of current technologies and Pay TV industry trends Excellent organisational skills, communication skills and technical skills. A combination of strong technology skills and business acumen Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate and present to senior level executives
