The medical transcriptionist is responsible for the timely transcription of medical reports and discharge summaries. Requirements Higher Secondary School (12 years study). Minimum 2 years of experience in medical transcription services. Computer literacy at intermediate level. Typing speed of at least 60 wpm with high accuracy level. Must be fluent in English (speak, read, write). Skilled in Dictaphone typing Key Outputs Responsible for transcribing medical reports and discharge summaries. Telephonic dictation transcribed Missing or inaudible dictation communicated to physician. Edit and proof read to ensure accuracy. Spelling and grammar errors are minimised. Patient information identified on all reports as per guidelines. Pending medical reports/discharge summaries followed up with Physician. Patient confidentially maintained at all times Medical reports and discharge summaries transcribed. Telephonic dictation transcribed Missing or inaudible dictation communicated to physician. Work edited and proof read to ensure accuracy. Spelling and grammar errors are minimised. Patient information identified on all reports as per guidelines.
