Company Name: Al Ghurair Group Employment Type: Full Time Monthly Salary: Unspecified Job Role: Unix Administrator Minimum Work Experience: 5-10 Years Minimum Education Level: Bachelors Degree Listed By: Employer Career Level: Mid-level Description: Job Purpose Administer and support the AGI Unix systems environment that hosts business critical applications such as Oracle ERP, Hyperion, SOA, OBIEE etc. In addition to that, configure, support and administer the corporate Storage Area Network and Exadata system which store the application databases as well as e-mails and other business critical information. Principle Accountabilities: 1. Provide system administration and technical support on Oracle Linux, Oracle Enterprise Linux, Oracle VM, Exadata and SAN systems. 2. Propose and perform installation, customization and maintenance of the operating system, server hardware and software products in Oracle Enterprise Linus environment in order to support business processing requirements and to improve the performance and reliability of the servers. 3. Administer, monitor, maintain and tune the servers and SAN systems in order to achieve optimum performance levels 4. Provide support on incidents pertaining to Oracle performance due to OS and hardware resource constraints and oracle printing in order to comply with the set SLA with business 5. Perform system and database backup, disaster recovery procedures and direct recovery operations for data centre and business locations in order to comply with Group IT policy 6. Participate in the planning phase for system requirements on various projects for deployment of business functions in order to scope out the activities on Unix servers. 7. Participate in the capacity planning and design of new implementations involving SAN configurations. Qualifications : · Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems, electrical or electronics engineering. · 8+ years of hands-on experience implementing and supporting Linux Operating System, particularly OEL · 8+ years of hands-on experience implementing and supporting Oracle VM and other S/W virtualization environments (OVMM, HyperV, etc.) · 6+ years of hands-on experience on Server and storage technologies (SAN, NAS) · Preferably, (Min) 2+ years of experience in supporting, administering and maintaining Exadata · Solid hands-on Experience on Oracle Enterprise Linux, Oracle Virtualization and (preferably) Exadata (Oracle Engineered systems) · Project management and Strong teamwork skills · Strong verbal and written communication skills in English language · Profound Understanding and hands-on experience of Business continuity/disaster recovery
